For
the past 16 years we have been investigating (that means fishing) the
northeast corner of Washington, and we pioneered the guiding
on the Upper Columbia in Washington. Tactics vary from the late winter/
early spring fishing using spey and swing tactics to the June &
July hatch season and dry flies, to the fall hatches of October Caddis,
terrestrial and streamers.
The
Jurassic is one
of the 'Best Kept Secrets' in the lower 48 and what we consider world
class trout fishing. The Upper Columbia sports incredible insect
hatches seasonally. Water temps on the river range from 40-65
degrees year round, providing great habitat throughout the
season for insect propagation. While the hatches are not guaranteed
day in and day out, the trout are at times incredibly tuned into the
surface which makes for great fun.
Great food, a good chance at a 25 inch wild rainbow
on the fly, few anglers and beautiful vistas are what we offer with
this program. Our itineraries are based on double occupancy.
Riverside
Lodging...
We cannot get any closer to the river, as our side by side facilities
are located 100 feet above the river and we have our own private docking
system for our boats. The lodges provide us with convenience and
comfort, a great place to sleep, eat and tell stories about the one
that "got away". Lodging is based on two people
per room.
The predominant target fish on the Columbia is
the Rainbow trout, and they are big! The average rainbow trout
is approximately 19-21 inches/ 3 to 4 pounds. There are Cutthroat
in the system and we catch them occasionally.
Package
rates range from $950 - $1,895 2-4 days All inclusive (Lodging, meals,
guides, tippets, flies and equipment if needed)
