You
will be fishing between the 42 and 43 parallel south. The weather
is temperate, equivalent to that of Washington and Oregon in the
Pacific Northwest. Although wind can lower temperatures, heavy rains
are not likely. However, unusual storms have occurred during the
summer, the rainy season begins May and ends in September.
Clothing
and Personal Gear
- Plan
clothing according to climate conditions for the month you will
fish. Equipment and gear should include:
- Two
to Three Rods 5-7 weight
Reels compatible with each rod and a multi tip system for each
reel and rod combo

Gortex waders with felt soled boots (plus one pair of light weights
as back-up )

Fishing vest (Stearns inflatable, as a suggestion)
- Sturdy
wading staff and wading belt
- Knotless
tapered leaders 7 - 13 ft. 3x

Warm hat and hat with visor

Polarized sunglasses

Warm coat
Good Rain Gear

Wool Sweater or fleece coat (For cool evenings and lake crossings
by boat)

Bug repellent (some horse flies, few mosquitoes, but no snakes
or dangerous animals)
