This rod reminds me a lot of the ‘Deathstar’ (7126 TCX), but lighter, crisper and maybe just a little bit more finnicky.
Tossing a compact Scandi with the rod is literally effortless and reguires minimal range of motion. This rod hucks wicked tight loops with a Scandi and although the fish doesn’t see the loop, a good loop is an efficient tool for consistent coverage of water which is necessary to prospect for steelhead.
Might be a little touchy for some anglers tossing Skagits because there is not much flex to it and therefore a bit hard to feel the rod load. However, when you harness this stick, the power is endless.
