The Sapsuk Camp is located 16 miles northwest of Nelson Lagoon on the banks of the Sapsuk River (aka Hoodoo River).  Much like our camp on the Steelhead River, the Sapsuk Camp offers excellent accommodations and fishing opportunities.  Access to this camp is only available via jet boat on the river. Travel time from town to the camp varies, but is usually a scenic 50-minute ride.

The camp is located on a high bluff looking over the river.  Our two home pools are some of the most productive on the river, so you can fish late into the night.

This camp has a very nice shower house (with endless hot water), a kitchen/dining tent, a lounge tent, 3 guest tents (1 is divided by a wall into two sleeping areas), and of course two very nice outhouses.  All of the above have wood floors and wood walkways connecting them.

The River:

The Sapsuk River is easily one of the largest in the Nelson Lagoon area.  The river provides plenty of room to explore and fish all week!  In comparison to the Steelhead River, the Sapsuk provides a wider range of fishing possibilities and also offers anglers a bit more of a challenge.

The river itself is the perfect river to spey fish or single hand rod fish.  A good spey fisherman can just reach the other shore.  As it drains Hoodoo Lake the river itself is reasonably clean from debris so swinging flies are the norm.  The wading is usually very easy, and your guide will always be near.  Overall you would be hard pressed to design a better river to fish.

The Fishing:

All fishing is done with our licensed guides on the Steelhead and Sapsuk Rivers.  Both rivers offer an array of fishing possibilities and depending on the time of year, either river will be teeming with King, Silver, Chum, or Red Salmon.  Steelhead and Rainbow trout also available.  The camp does have its own equipment, but clients are encouraged to bring their own gear.

Our trip is based on Steelhead Fishing:))
