KLICKITAT – Pressure has been less due to the lack of numbers over the dam.   The swing fishing has been worthy.  Depending on time and zone, we have used everything from dry lines to heavier tips.  October look alike patterns just subsurface and on the top have attracted a few.  Also, big like the AI (Artificial Intelligence) or Intruders  have produced as well.

In addition to the steelhead under tension we have had a rally, here and there, with the Chinook as well on the swing.

Good push of fish recently:))

UPPER COLUMBIA – Different then last fall….Overall fishing has been average.

YAKIMA – Fishing gooood throughout the system – From top to bottom.   Salmon Spawn up top.  Octobers, Crane flies, Baetis, Small Caddis  in the Farmlands and Lower Canyon

Fishing has improved on all fronts with the weather change.  Hopefully that will be helpful for the fires as well.

YAKIMA
Low, clear and fishing good.   Dry flies, droppers, nymph rigs and streamers have all worked lately.

Best bugs for us lately…
Royal Wulf #12-14
Adams #12-16
Purple Chubby #8-12
Cranefly adult #8-12
YB Soft Hackle #14-18
Sculpzilla #6-8

KLICKITAT
River is Steelhead Green and the fish have been caught by both tactics….Nymph and Swing.

Swing lines lately include – Dry lines with skaters and damp flies, Light tips and heavy tip.  Fish the water with the technique and line most appropriate for the situ.  Fish have wanted to chase….not a bad thing.

UPPER COLUMBIA
Dry flies, nymphs and swingtastic….:)

Fly combo for the Yakima

YAKIMA

This river has been consistent lately…  River has been dropping and is close to Fall levels now with the flip flop almost complete.  Irrigation needs for the lower valley will be drawn predominantly from the Tieton system, as the flow on that one has been increased.  Great whitewater on that river  right now!

Dry – Droppers have been our best technique lately with the #10 Purple Chubby and a # 16 YB Tungsten Soft Hackle being one of our best combo’s  In addition a well placed streamer has also been a

UPPER COLUMBIA

Little rough lately on this one with minimal bugs and extended warm temperatures.   This cooling trend is welcome

KLICKITAT

Water clarity has been POOR for the past week.  We should see some clearing with the cooling trend.
