Little cold lately. Lots of ice in the guides. Fishing the warmth of the day is your best bet. Watch for the fishing to be good to great the next time the water temps rise… even just 1/2 of a degree! Recently the fishing has been good for a few nice ones….. Certainly not a numbers game recently.

Obstacle update
The way through this obstacle is to approach river right of the log jam and lift up the limb and go under it. If you approach the river left side there is a log just under the water at this level that will high center you.
Thank you Garth, for the Video !

CURRENTLY ‘NOT SO PRETTY’ FROM THE TEANAWAY DOWN — THE UPPER FLATLANDS ARE COMING INTO SHAPE TODAY. THE ENTIRE RIVER SHOULD BE IN SHAPE, SOON, WITH THE UPCOMING FORECAST.

KLICKITAT RIVER ……
Currently at 2450 cfs / Weather forecast is reasonable for a dropping river but appears that conditions for fishing will be tough here in the last week of the open season.

The river saw a recent spike from the current weather pattern. Prior to the bump in flows, the fishing has been good to great…. Refer to the last Yakima report for the inside scoop. The recent bump has not amounted to much of an increase in flows and loss of clarity…..Especially up river.
Also here is a little shorty on the Yakima’s ‘Other Season’

Sporadic year overall. Every encounter was appreciated. Some weeks were TOUGH catching, others not as much. The 2017 season closes at the end of the month. Although lots of fish make for a great day, 1 fish is awesome. Finding one fish with a swung fly takes the cake…
Recent fishing has been decent. The above pictured fish came on 2.75 inches of a chartruese dumbell eyed black leech fished behind a 550 I Flight with 10 feet of T-8. In fact two fish ate that combo in the same run within 5 casts. One was landed.
Water clarity is at 4.5 feet with the water temp ranging from 41-44 degrees depending on time and zone.
